Art of Opening
An open body is a freer body. It’s the sensation of being unbound—less tense, less restricted, more alive.
Achieving this openness is a journey. Through stretching, relaxation, mindful movement, and internal arts, we unlock new possibilities in how we feel and move.
The key is believing that change is possible—and that you have the power to open yourself to it.
Whether you want to feel strong and capable or dive deep into unwinding tension, I’ll meet you where you are. With expertise in Corrective Exercise, Mobility, QiGong, and Release Work, I offer personalized 1-on-1 coaching to help you achieve your unique goals, at the level that’s right for you.
At Art of Opening, we categorize different levels of working with oneself.
Physical Exercise: Here lies working with the muscles and tissues to encourage more general capacity in strength and mobility.
Tension Release: Working with deeper layers of tension in the body to unwind the things that keep our body and mind stuck.
Somatic Release: Working with repressed layers that have not been able to move, and giving them an outlet. See the Grinberg Method
Every one needs, and is interested in different levels. We will work with you at the level you decide.
Do you like both paths? The work usually ends up being combined with everyone I work with. Sign up for a consultation and we can discuss what that looks like for you!
Designed by stiff people for stiff people. Take your forward fold from touching your knees or shins to touching your toes! With the right approach it shouldn't take too long to get there.
Art of Opening came from my own struggle with chronic stiffness and pain—especially in my hips and lower back. No matter what I tried—stretching, corrective exercises, anything I could find—nothing seemed to work long-term. It felt like I was constantly hitting a wall.
What I realized was that most approaches to flexibility and pain relief are simply not designed for people who are REALLY stiff or who have deeper chronic issues.
It was tough. When you’ve tried everything and still don’t feel better, it can wear you down.
Over time, I found a few techniques that gave me some relief—slowly, my hips started to open up. But the progress was painful, exhausting, and often felt like one step forward, two steps back. I began working with clients on this stuff. And I was watching a similar process unfold with them. Some progress, only to hit a wall.
All the while that I was working on my body, something deeper was happening beneath the surface—a quiet, yet powerful shift.
On a personal level, I began to explore alternative healing practices—breathwork, meditation, yoga, tai chi, and even psychedelics. These practices helped me open up emotionally and become less rigid, not just physically, but on all levels.
After each deep release, I noticed something: I had more range of motion, more mobility, and I felt better. And it wasn’t just a fleeting effect—it stuck. My body stayed softer and more open for days or even weeks after these experiences.
At first, I thought it was all just a temporary chemical shift, but I quickly realized it was much deeper than that. It was tension—the deep-rooted tension in my body being released. And when that tension was released, my body felt more open, lighter, and more at ease.
This led me to dive deeper into working directly with tension. I began using meditation, Qi Gong, and other mind-body techniques to release it at its source.
That’s when the real transformation began. I started making huge progress—my body became more flexible, but not just in a superficial way. It felt easier to move, and not painful anymore. For the first time, I felt like I was addressing the root cause, not just treating the symptoms. It was like rebuilding a house from the ground up—creating something that worked, and worked well.
Now, my mission is to share this journey and this work with others. To show that opening your body isn’t just a distant dream—it’s possible. To feel at home in your body, to live open and free, and to experience lasting relief and flexibility.
This is the Art of Opening.
